Station 3: Don't worry!
The Lord says:
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit”
(Jeremiah 17, 7-8).
After the death of his mother, Ansgar is given to the monastery of Corbie at the age of 5. Ansgar becomes a monk and teacher at various monastery schools, later pursuing a career as missionary traveller and diplomat. Finally, the half-orphan even becomes a bishop.
Until the end, Ansgar's Path is marked by complications and setbacks: failures, raids, bad times, in the end also serious illness – and the feeling of not having sufficed...
What makes you grow?
Here you see a special tree. Take a close look at it.
What has made you grow, even against resistance? Which roots hold you up?
Stand still for a while. Direct your attention to the ground beneath you... There is a solid ground that supports you. Be aware of your back. Stand upright between heaven and earth... like a strong tree. There is a force that lifts you up. Feel how your breath flows. You are alive. And you are growing.
